NAWGJ WA MISSION STATEMENT
To SERVE its Washington State members, gymnasts, and coaches.
To EDUCATE its judges.
To ensure JUDGEMENTS that are fair, consistent and unbiased and aid its judges to do so.

Eligibility For State Governing Board Member:
A. All National, Regional, State and At-Large Directors and Officers shall be 21 years of age.
B. All State Governing Board Members shall be certified judges for a minimum of one year (12 months).
C. A candidate must be in good standing under the canons and disciplinary rules of the NAWGJ Code of Professional Responsibility.

Duties Of The State Governing Board Member

Be responsible to the State Judging Director (SJD).
Be present at all State Governing Board (SGB) meetings and present, discuss and vote on all pertinent issues.
Fulfill the specific duties as outlined by the SJD for the Board position held.
Approve the budget for Judges’ Cups or other special events.
Consult with the SJD about expenditures of more than $200.00 for depreciable items and $100.00 for non-NAWGJ activities or expenditures for gifts or donations.
Expenditures incurred by a SGB Member must be approved in writing by the SJD.
Enforce the adherence to high ethical standards in judging.
Failure to attend two consecutive SGB Meetings shall constitute an automatic suspension. A proxy will not fulfill the attendance requirement. A proxy may be sent and must be approved by the SJD.
Failure to comply with the responsibilities of this office could result in removal from office after review by the SGB.

Palouse Empire Gymnastics of Moscow, ID is hosting Regionals April 1 – 3, 2016. The event will be held at Beasley Coliseum on the Washington State University campus.

NOTE: Region 2 Congress is cancelled for next summer

Under the NAWGJ Code of Professional Responsibility:

• A judge should not solicit meets for herself/himself or for others.
• A judge should assist in maintaining the integrity and competence of the profession of judging women’s gymnastic events.
• A judge should assist the Association in fulfilling its duty to make judges for women’s gymnastics events available.
• A judge shall be completely unbiased.
• A judge should not give any appearance of any particular friendship with any coach or competitor.
• A judge should not become intimate with coaches or affiliates of teams or contestants who she/he may later be called upon to judge.
• A judge shall not use her/his position to endeavor to influence or attempt to influence anyone in any manner whatsoever, or to obtain any special advantage for herself/himself by reasons of or as consequence or her/his being a judge.
• Judges may not participate in any wagering activities involving amateur, collegiate or professional gymnastics, nor can they provide any information to individuals involved in any type of gymnastics wagering activities
